Mr. Jayakar Bangera, lovingly known as the husband of Veronica Bangera, a retired teacher, was a man of remarkable character. His mortal remains will be kept at the residence “Vatsalya,” located at 76 Badagubettu Bailore, Udupi, where friends and family can pay their respects.

The funeral cortege will depart from the residence at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, proceeding to the Udupi Cemetery for the final rites at 4:30 PM.

Mr. Bangera was a devoted member of the CSI CHRISTA JYOTHI CHURCH in KORANGRAPaDY, where his unwavering faith brought solace and inspiration to many. He never missed a Sunday service, exemplifying his deep connection with God.

Beyond his spiritual dedication, Mr. Bangera was known for his strong work ethic and his culinary talents. He was a great cook, always ready to lend a helping hand to his family members. His biriyani, prepared with love, remains unforgettable to those who had the privilege of tasting it.

Mr. Bangera was also recognized for his style, often seen riding his iconic “White Yezdi bike” with grace and flair. His elegance extended to his calm and soft-spoken nature, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

In Loving Memory of Mr. Evans Christopher Sumitra

Mr. Evans Christopher Sumitra, born on the 19th of July 1946, was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and a cherished member of his community. He was the second child of the late Mr. Purushotham Sumitra and the late Mrs. Mary Magdalene Sumitra. In a loving and closely-knit family, he grew up alongside his elder sister, Mrs. Adline Challa, residing in Marol, Mumbai, his younger brother, Dr. Ivan Sumitra, a distinguished Dental Surgeon in Washington, USA, and his younger sister, Mrs. Vinaya Anchan, a dedicated teacher in Maryland, USA.

On the 17th of July 1979, Mr. Evans Christopher Sumitra entered into a lifelong partnership with Mrs. Milita Sumitra, a Senior Staff Nurse who had worked tirelessly at Jaslock Hospital in Mumbai and Montifere North Central Hospital in the USA. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, commitment, and shared dreams.

Their love story gave birth to two wonderful children who brought immense joy to their lives: their elder daughter, Mrs. Susan Lavina Fullum, married to Mr. Christopher Fullum in the USA, and their younger son, Mr. Samson Oliver, who was a source of pride and happiness.

Mr. Sumitra received his early education at St. Ignatius High School in Agripada, Mumbai. Throughout his life, he remained deeply rooted in his faith, becoming a devoted member of UBM Sushanthi Church in Byculla, Mumbai.

His professional journey was marked by dedication and versatility. He began his career at Sony International, Dubai, showcasing his skills and passion. He returned to India briefly, working in Mumbai before embarking on an international journey that took him to Iran. His work abroad was characterized by his commitment to excellence and his ability to adapt to new challenges.

In pursuit of his dreams and ambitions, Mr. Sumitra eventually returned to Mumbai and then relocated to the United States. He found his calling as a computer personnel in the ICU department at North Central Hospital in the USA. His work made a significant impact on the lives of countless patients and the healthcare community. After a successful career, he retired gracefully and chose to settle down in the peaceful surroundings of his cherished home, Chris Milli Cottage in Udupi, where he found solace and contentment.

Mr. Evans Christopher Sumitra will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his warm and compassionate nature. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. His love for family and friends was evident in every smile he shared, every word of encouragement he offered, and every moment of joy he created.

His passing on 19th leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled. But as we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the lasting impact he had on all of us.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Denis Simon D’Souza, who departed from this world on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the age of 68. Born to the late Gracy and the late Ignatius D’Souza, Denis leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and enduring family bonds.

Denis was the loving husband of Lilly D’Souza, a devoted father to his children, Suraj and Derick, and a cherished grandfather to the little bundle of joy, Darwin D’Souza. His presence in their lives was a source of unwavering strength and comfort, and his love will forever resonate in their hearts.

Denis was not just a family man; he was also a beloved brother to his siblings, each of whom shared a unique and unbreakable bond with him. He is survived by his brothers Salvador (Jacintha), Thomas (Mary), Charles (Philomena), Victor (Jacintha), and Aloysius (Merlyn), as well as his sisters Sevrine (Cyril) and Lawarence (Hilda). The mortal remains of Mr. Prabhakara Devaprasada will be kept at his residence, “Little Flower Apartments, Near C. J. Church, 76.B. B. Bailoor, Udupi,” to allow family and friends to pay their respects and bid their final farewells.

On September 4, 2023, the world bid farewell to a truly remarkable man of faith, Rev. W. Franklin James, at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving sons, Alan and Aaron James, and countless individuals whose lives were touched by his unwavering dedication to his calling. Rev. James peacefully departed to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service that will forever be remembered.

Rev. James’ mortal remains will be kept at the residence “Penina,” Near BMM School Road, 76 B, B Udupi, where family and friends can pay their respects.

The funeral cortege will depart from the residence at 3:45 PM, proceeding to the CSI Christa Jyothi Church for the funeral service, which will commence at 4:00 PM. Following the service, his final journey will lead to the Udupi Cemetery on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, for the burial, scheduled at 5:00 PM.

Rev. William Franklin James was born on May 9, 1939, and his journey of faith and service spanned over eight decades. He completed his theological studies, including Lth at Karnataka Theological College, B.D at United Theological College, and a Master of Divinity at Colgate University in Rochester, USA. His quest for knowledge and deepening his understanding of faith exemplified his commitment to his calling.

Rev. James began his service in the ministry with his first posting at Kannanghad Neeleshwar, where he dedicated two years to nurturing the spiritual well-being of his congregation. His devotion and pastoral care did not go unnoticed, leading to his next posting at Jubilee Church Udupi, where he faithfully served for 22 years. His time there left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he ministered to.

In 1990, Rev. James was transferred to C.J.C, where he continued his service until he took voluntary retirement in 2000. Throughout his tenure, he touched the lives of countless individuals, offering solace, guidance, and love to those in need.

Rev. W. Franklin James was not only a dedicated minister but also a beloved father, and his sons Alan and Aaron carry forward his legacy of faith and devotion. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also an enduring inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Godwin, lovingly known as Stan, was born on August 18, 1943, in a small, close-knit community near Udupi. He was the beloved husband of Emily Joyce Pallat and the proud father of two wonderful sons, Leander Santhosh and Leonard Harsha.

Throughout his 80 fulfilling years on this earth, Stan touched the lives of countless individuals with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. He was a pillar of strength for his family and a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
