Mrs. Grace Magdalene Kunder, a woman of unwavering faith, relentless dedication, and boundless love, has peacefully departed from this world on May 1, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on April 23, 1933, her life was a testament to the values of compassion, integrity, and service.
Grace Kunder dedicated her life to the noble profession of education, shaping young minds as a teacher at U.B.M.C Higher Primary School. Her passion for nurturing young souls and instilling in them the love for learning was unparalleled. With her gentle demeanor and firm guidance, she left an indelible mark on generations of students, inspiring them to reach for the stars.
Beyond her role in the classroom, Grace was a pillar of her community, serving as the Director of the Udupi Protestant Christian Credit Co. Op. Society. Her leadership and vision propelled the organization to new heights, empowering countless individuals and families through financial assistance and guidance. Her commitment to uplifting the underprivileged and fostering economic stability reflected her deep-rooted compassion and sense of social responsibility.
In every aspect of her life, Grace exemplified the principles of faith and resilience. Her unwavering belief in the power of prayer and her steadfast trust in the divine guided her through life’s trials and tribulations. She lived by the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” embodying courage and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Grace’s devotion to her family was unwavering, and her home was a sanctuary of love and warmth. As the beloved wife of the Late Mr. Samuel Tejpal Kunder, she shared a bond characterized by mutual respect, unwavering support, and enduring love. Together, they weathered life’s storms and celebrated its joys, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of their loved ones.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children and their families. Her eldest son, the Late Mr. Ashok Kunder, may have departed from this world, but his wife, Mrs. Sybil Kunder, along with their daughter Ancita and her spouce Moses and son Aiden, mourn her loss deeply. Their sorrow is shared by Grace’s daughter, Mrs. Shobha Fernandez, and her husband, Mr. Renny Fernandez, along with their family members Ramya, Elwyn, Yohaan, and Raina. Additionally, her son, Mr. Amrith Kunder, and his wife, Mrs. Sabrina Kunder, along with their family Alvin, Megan, Rose, and Alan, grieve the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother.
The mortal remains of Mrs. Grace Magdalene Kunder will be kept at her residence, “Shilpa,” in Dasharathnagar, Manipal, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 7 am to 8:30 am, followed by a funeral service at the CSI Jubilee Church premises at 9 am. She will then be laid to rest at the Udupi Cemetery.
