Through the decades, she witnessed monumental changes, yet she remained a steadfast anchor for her family and community. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. J. S. Karkada, a pillar of strength beside whom she built a beautiful life and nurtured a family rooted in love and Christian values. Her devotion to her husband and children, Nelson and the late Benson, was the foundation upon which her life was built.

A retired teacher by profession, Mrs. Sarojini Karkada dedicated her life to the education and enlightenment of young minds. The mortal remains of Mrs. Sarojini Karkada will be brought to her residence, “God’s,” in Gerukatte, Mulky, on the 25th of August, 2024, where family and friends will gather to pay their respects. The Funeral Cortege will depart from the residence at 4:00 PM and proceed to the CSI Unity Church Cemetery in Karnad, Mulky, where she will be laid to rest at 4:30 PM. It will be a time of solemn reflection and a celebration of a life well-lived.

A woman of profound spirituality, she spent much of her life immersed in the teachings of the Bible, finding comfort and strength in the words of Scripture.

She was a pillar of her community and a cherished member of the CSI Hebich Memorial Church in Gorigudda. Her life was a testament to the values of love, service, and humility, qualities that she imparted to her three children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jathanna was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and community. She was blessed with five children, three sons and two daughters, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her love extended beyond her children to her seven grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. Mrs. Jathanna was affectionately known as “Celly Ajji” by everyone, a term of endearment that reflected the warmth and affection she brought into the lives of those around her.

Despite her age, Mrs. Jathanna was remarkably active and full of life. She had a particular fondness for playing ludo, a game she enjoyed with her family and friends. Her youthful spirit and lively presence were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and happiness, raising three wonderful children—Late Livingston Arun Kumar Johnas, Sushanthi Shailaja Samuel, and Late Sudhir Kumar Johnas—who were the center of her world.

Manomani was an active member of the C.S.I Sushanthi Church, Mercara Hill. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times. She was deeply involved in the church’s activities, especially those organized for senior citizens. Her participation in these events was a testament to her unwavering spirit and her commitment to her community. Manomani was also a proud member of the church choir, where her voice added a melodious harmony to the prayers and hymns.
