Obituary Notice: Mr. John H.G. Anchen
We deeply regret to inform you of the sad demise of Mr. John H.G. Anchen, who departed this life on 05 June 2024 at the age of 87. Mr. Anchen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, educator, and musician, went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, love, and service.
Mr. Anchen was born on 18 January 1937 and spent a lifetime devoted to education and community service. He served as the esteemed Principal of Hebich Technical Training Institute, where he influenced countless young minds with his wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Even after his retirement, his contributions continued to inspire and shape the institution and its many alumni.
He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Vinaya Anchen, whose support and partnership enriched his life and work. Together, they built a loving family and a life of devotion to each other and to their community.
He was a cherished father to his daughter Ruhamah, married to Pradeep Jathanna, and his son Melroy, married to Pragnya Anchen. Mr. Anchen’s love and pride for his family were evident in every aspect of his life. His grandchildren, Ian, Leanne, Daniel, and Michael, were the lights of his life, and he found immense joy in their presence and accomplishments.
Mr. Anchen was a passionate lover of music and was widely respected as a church organist in Mangalore. His musical talents were a gift to the community, and he played a significant role in the spiritual life of Church Balmatta. His melodies, which brought comfort and joy to many, will be sorely missed.
In addition to his musical contributions, Mr. Anchen also served as the president of the Balmatta Music Association (BMA), where he furthered his commitment to promoting musical excellence and worship within the church community.
His leadership extended beyond his professional and musical endeavors. Mr. Anchen held several honorary positions in various associations, demonstrating his dedication to service and his commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
The funeral cortege will leave his residence, ‘Aashish’, located behind Aruna Nursery on Balmatta New Road, Mangalore 575001, on Friday, 07 June 2024, at 3:30 pm. The funeral service will commence at 4:00 pm at Gorigudda Cemetery, where family, friends, and the community will gather to pay their final respects and celebrate the life of this remarkable man.
