In Loving Memory of Mrs. Sophia Shavanthi Vedamuthu

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Mrs. Sophia Shavanthi Vedamuthu, beloved wife of the late Mr. Lucas Vedamuthu, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on 20th August 2024 at the age of 92.
Mrs. Sophia Shavanthi Vedamuthu was a dedicated educator who served as the Head Mistress at the Government Higher Primary School in Jeppina Mogaru. Her commitment to shaping young minds was matched by her devotion to her family and her unwavering faith in God. A woman of profound spirituality, she spent much of her life immersed in the teachings of the Bible, finding comfort and strength in the words of Scripture.
She was a pillar of her community and a cherished member of the CSI Hebich Memorial Church in Gorigudda. Her life was a testament to the values of love, service, and humility, qualities that she imparted to her three children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her legacy of kindness, wisdom, and spiritual guidance will be treasured by all who knew her.
The mortal remains of Mrs. Sophia Shavanthi Vedamuthu will be brought to her residence, “Sarah,” in Jeppu Majila, Mangalore, on 21st August 2024. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects. The funeral cortege will depart from the residence at 4:00 PM and proceed to Gorigudda Cemetery, with the burial service commencing at 4:30 PM.
In this time of loss, we find solace in the knowledge that she has been welcomed into the arms of the Lord she so dearly loved. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating her life and offering prayers for her soul’s eternal rest.
