In Loving Memory of Rev. W. Franklin James (09 May 1939 – 04 September 2023)
On September 4, 2023, the world bid farewell to a truly remarkable man of faith, Rev. W. Franklin James, at the age of 84. He is survived by his loving sons, Alan and Aaron James, and countless individuals whose lives were touched by his unwavering dedication to his calling. Rev. James peacefully departed to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service that will forever be remembered.
Rev. James’ mortal remains will be kept at the residence “Penina,” Near BMM School Road, 76 B, B Udupi, where family and friends can pay their respects.
The funeral cortege will depart from the residence at 3:45 PM, proceeding to the CSI Christa Jyothi Church for the funeral service, which will commence at 4:00 PM. Following the service, his final journey will lead to the Udupi Cemetery on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, for the burial, scheduled at 5:00 PM.
Rev. William Franklin James was born on May 9, 1939, and his journey of faith and service spanned over eight decades. He completed his theological studies, including Lth at Karnataka Theological College, B.D at United Theological College, and a Master of Divinity at Colgate University in Rochester, USA. His quest for knowledge and deepening his understanding of faith exemplified his commitment to his calling.
Rev. James began his service in the ministry with his first posting at Kannanghad Neeleshwar, where he dedicated two years to nurturing the spiritual well-being of his congregation. His devotion and pastoral care did not go unnoticed, leading to his next posting at Jubilee Church Udupi, where he faithfully served for 22 years. His time there left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he ministered to.
In 1990, Rev. James was transferred to C.J.C, where he continued his service until he took voluntary retirement in 2000. Throughout his tenure, he touched the lives of countless individuals, offering solace, guidance, and love to those in need.
Rev. W. Franklin James was not only a dedicated minister but also a beloved father, and his sons Alan and Aaron carry forward his legacy of faith and devotion. He leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also an enduring inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
