With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. Maria Magdalin Jathanna, a beloved member of the U.B.M Jubilee Church in Udupi. At the age of 91, Mrs. Jathanna went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. She was the cherished wife of the late Mr. James Albert and resided at “Rathna Villa,” Opposite ASCO Steel, Kappettu, Udupi.
Mrs. Jathanna was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and community. She was blessed with five children, three sons and two daughters, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her love extended beyond her children to her seven grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. Mrs. Jathanna was affectionately known as “Celly Ajji” by everyone, a term of endearment that reflected the warmth and affection she brought into the lives of those around her.
Despite her age, Mrs. Jathanna was remarkably active and full of life. She had a particular fondness for playing ludo, a game she enjoyed with her family and friends. Her youthful spirit and lively presence were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her laughter and enthusiasm were infectious, and she had a unique ability to connect with people of all ages, especially children, with whom she shared a deep love. Her home was always filled with joy and laughter, as she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, playing games and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Mrs. Jathanna was also an exceptional cook, renowned for her delicious meals that she lovingly prepared for her family and anyone who visited her home. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where the aroma of her cooking would draw people together, creating a sense of community and belonging. She took great pride in serving others, always ensuring that everyone who entered her home felt welcomed and well-fed. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her recipes will continue to be passed down through generations, a testament to her love and care for those she held dear.
Her passing marks the end of an era for her family and the community. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service to others. She was a pillar of strength for her family, a source of comfort for her friends, and a beacon of light in her community.
The mortal remains of Mrs. Maria Magdalin Jathanna will be brought to her residence tomorrow, where family and friends can pay their final respects. The funeral cortege will leave from her home on Sunday, 18th August 2024, at 4:00 pm, proceeding to the U.B.M Cemetery in Udupi. The funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm, where we will gather to celebrate her life and commit her soul to the Lord.
