It is with profound sadness and deep reverence that we announce the passing of Mr. H. D. Herbert, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of the community. Mr. Herbert, 81, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024, in Udupi, surrounded by his family.
Born in Udupi, Mr. Herbert was a man of integrity, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his family and faith. He was the loving husband of Mrs. Lalitha P. Herbert, cherished father of Mrs. Shwetha Blossom and Mrs. Shilpa Sharon, and respected father-in-law of Dr. Naveen Amanna and Mr. Kling Johnson. He delighted in the role of grandfather to Mr. Adolf Shervin and Master Adan Klion, whose lives were brightened by his wisdom and affection.
Mr. Herbert was the proprietor of Shilpa Auto Works, where his commitment to excellence and honesty earned him the respect of his peers and patrons alike. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a devout member of the CSI Jubilee Church in Udupi, where his faith was the cornerstone of his life.
His passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. His kindness, gentle demeanor, and unwavering faith were a source of inspiration to many. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
The mortal remains of Mr. Herbert will be kept for homage at his residence, “Shwetha Nilaya, 10th Cross, Mission Compound, Udupi,” from 12 noon on April 18, 2024. The funeral cortege will depart from his residence at 4 PM on April 19, 2024, proceeding to the Church Cemetery in Udupi for his final rites.
